Lake Brownwood dominates the central landscape of this West Texas quadrangle, where the impounded waters of Jim Ned Creek and Pecos Bayou meet at the Brownwood Dam. By the late 1960s, the shoreline had become a hub for recreational and residential development, evidenced by the growth of Shamrock Shores and Lake Shore along the southern banks. The map documents a transition from traditional ranching and rural life to a lakeside economy, as fishing piers and a Boat Ramp appear alongside established landmarks like Macedonia Cem and Mc Daniel Cem.

Away from the water, the terrain is marked by a network of drainage systems including Rough Creek and Rocky Creek, the latter home to the Rocky Creek Ch.
