About this map

Lake Crescent dominates the eastern edge of this landscape, its western shores meeting the settlement of Fairholm where the Olympic Highway curves along the water. This 1950 field-checked survey reveals a region defined by its sharp elevation changes, transitioning from the peaks of Mount Muller and Aurora Ridge down to the river valleys below. To the west and south, the Soleduck River is joined by its significant tributaries, the North Fork Soleduck River and the South Fork Soleduck River. Much of the terrain is managed as Olympic National Park and Olympic National Forest, showing a network of specialized routes like the Sol Duc Hot Springs Road and the high-altitude Aurora Trail. Notable landmarks such as Thompson Pt and Eagle Pt jut into the deep water of the lake, while the secluded Eagle Lakes sit tucked into the southern ridges.
