1956 Map of Mt. Michelson

USGS Topo · Published 1962

About this map

Mount Michelson and Mount Chamberlin dominate the interior of this survey, marking some of the highest peaks in the Romanzof Mountains and the broader Brooks Range. The landscape transitions from the jagged peaks of the Franklin Mountains and Shublik Mountains toward the coastal plains of Camden Bay. Large glacial systems, including the Peters Glacier and Esetuk Glacier, feed into Lake Peters and Lake Schrader, creating a complex alpine hydrologic network.
