Ungalik River meanders through the interior wilderness of the Nulato Hills in this western Alaskan landscape. The topography is dominated by the high elevations of the hills, where the drainage patterns of the river system are clearly visible across the public land survey townships including t7s r9w, t7s r8w, t8s r9w, and t8s r8w. This 2017 survey provides a modern record of the remote terrain east of Norton Bay, showing the natural course of the water through a region devoid of permanent settlements or modern road infrastructure. It is a vital document for understanding the hydrology and land management boundaries of the Nome Census Area.
