The Dishna River meanders through a vast network of wetlands and oxbow lakes within the Innoko National Wildlife Refuge in this mid-century topographic record. The landscape is defined by the complex hydrology of the interior, where the river's shifting course creates a dense pattern of water bodies and marshland. To the east, the terrain rises toward the Tolstoi highlands, drained by a series of north-flowing tributaries.

Evidence of human activity is sparse in this wilderness, represented by a lone Cabin and several named watercourses including Coffee Creek and Madison Creek. The southeast corner is dominated by the Tolstoi Basin, where Tolstoi Creek meets Mastodon Creek and Boob Creek. This survey, compiled from 1950s aerial photography, captures the drainage patterns and untouched character of the Yukon-Koyukuk region before later boundary designations.
