To the south, the community of Tavener is anchored by a Cotton Gin, reflecting the area's dual reliance on petroleum and cotton. The eastern boundary is marked by the winding course of the Brazos River, which creates a sharp contrast between the wooded riparian zone and the gridded agricultural fields and ranch roads like Robinowitz Road No 2 and Randon Road. Numerous small watercourses, including Turkey Creek and Snake Creek, drain the flatlands toward the river.
