About this map

Grosse Ile dominates the eastern half of this survey, separated from the mainland by the Detroit River and defined by the Grosse Ile Municipal Airport and the Grosse Ile Country Club. The landscape transitions from the industrial and residential corridors of Trenton and Woodhaven down to the marshy outlets of the Huron River and Lake Erie. This coastal ecology is preserved within the Pointe Mouillee State Game Area, where the West Lead and East Lead channels cut through the wetlands near Pointe Mouillee.
