1967 Map of Seven Springs

USGS Topo · Published 1982

About this map

Forbes State Forest blankets much of this mountainous landscape where the borders of Westmoreland, Somerset, and Fayette counties meet. The high ridges host a growing recreation industry in the late twentieth century, including the Hidden Valley Ski Area and the Seven Springs Ski Area, alongside the Seven Springs Airport. Older layers of development are visible in the small settlements of Jones Mills and Horners Mill, and the presence of an Old Railroad Grade and the Old Turnpike near the Pennsylvania Turnpike corridor.
