About this map

The Sargent Icefield dominates the southern landscape of this region on the Kenai Peninsula Borough, where massive glacial systems shape the coastline and river valleys. Deep within the Chugach National Forest, the Ellsworth Glacier and Kingdon Glacier feed into the complex drainage of Kings Bay. These ice-carved features define the hydrology of the area, with the Nellie Juan River and Kings River carving paths through the high-elevation peaks.
