1899 Map of Stamford

USGS Topo · Published 1908

About this map

Coastal commerce and rail expansion define this late 19th-century survey of the New York Connecticut Boundary Line. The southern shoreline of the Long Island Sound is heavily detailed, from Port Chester to the busy docks of Stamford, featuring the Stamford Harbor L.H. and numerous inlets like Greenwich Cove and Coscob Harbor. Inland, the landscape is a network of small villages and estates connected by the New York New Haven and Hartford Railroad in the south and the Harlem Div. New York Central and Hudson River Railroad in the northwest, which serves Bedford Station and Mt. Kisco.
