Tell sits at the southern edge of this West Texas landscape, where the agricultural plains meet a network of dissected creek drainages. The area is defined by the convergence of several waterways, most notably Baylor Creek and its branches, North Baylor Creek and South Baylor Creek. These seasonal watercourses carve through the terrain, creating a complex series of draws and ridges that stand in contrast to the flat, subdivided ranch lands of the Panhandle. Near the northeastern corner of the sheet, Baylor Lake provides a notable water feature in an otherwise semi-arid environment. The road network, including FM 658, FM 94, and FM 1282, follows a rigid grid that bisects the natural contours of Rustlers Creek and Cox Creek, illustrating the intersection of modern transport and the local topography.
