1932 Map of Three Sisters

USGS Topo · Published 1948

About this map

Mt Washington and the surrounding volcanic peaks dominate this late 1920s survey, published just as the modern road network was taking shape. The landscape is defined by the Santiam Highway and McKenzie Highway, which replaced earlier wagon routes like the one passing the Old Toll Station near Suttle Lake. These arteries connected the small settlement of Sisters and the outlying Camp Polk to the high mountain passes.
