The Alaska Peninsula National Wildlife Refuge and Aniakchak National Preserve converge in this high-resolution study of the Aleutian Range. The terrain is defined by dramatic elevation changes and a network of glacial and volcanic drainages, most notably the winding paths of Pumice Cr and Painter Cr. These waterways carve through complex topographic contours, illustrating the raw geological forces at work on the Alaska Peninsula.
