Union Peak and the high ridges of the Wind River Range dominate this 2012 survey of the Wyoming wilderness. The landscape is defined by its complex drainage systems and glacial lakes, with Three Waters Mountain marking a significant hydrologic divide where waters separate toward different major basins. A high-altitude waypoint at Union Pass Cow Camp and the winding Lake of the Woods Rd provide the few markers of human passage in a region otherwise characterized by alpine terrain and remote water bodies.
