Rising sharply to the north is Peavine Peak, a prominent landmark topped with a Lookout and Radio Tower. This mountain was a center of early mining activity, evidenced here by the Poeville (Site) and numerous specialized workings. Local historians can locate the Red Metal Mine, Golden Fleece Mine, Paymaster Mine, and Fravel Mine, which illustrate the region's mineral-driven development. The northern edge opens into Lemmon Valley, showcasing the transition from industrial river valley to high-elevation desert mining districts.
