Winkler and the surrounding Navarro County countryside are defined by the expansive waters of Lake Corsicana and the braided drainage of Tehuacana Creek. This 2019 survey documents a landscape where agricultural roots and residential lakeside development coexist along the Navarro and Freestone County line. The northern portion of the quadrangle is dominated by the lake's fingers, including Texas Industries Lake and the marshy Hogpen Slough, while the southern reaches follow the meandering paths of Greenbriar Creek and Sandy Creek.
