About this map

Tilly Foster Mine and the rail hub at Brewster anchor this late-19th-century study of the New York-Connecticut borderlands. The landscape is defined by the massive infrastructure of the Croton watershed, featuring the Titicus Reservoir, West Branch Reservoir, and Middle Branch Reservoir, which reshaped the valleys of the Croton River. The rail network is particularly dense here, showing the junction of the New York and New England RR and the Northern RR, alongside the Mahopac Branch serving the resort area around Lake Mahopac.
