Lake Istokpoga dominates the southern landscape of this mid-century Florida survey, providing a clear view of the shoreline and hydrology before later development. The northern reaches of the lake are fed by Arbuckle Creek and its tributary Arbuckle Branch, creating a complex wetland environment around Big Island. Infrastructure of the era is anchored by the Sebring Air Terminal and the Seaboard Coast Line railroad, which cuts diagonally across the terrain toward the settlement of Lorida.
