About this map

The confluence of the Walhonding River and the Killbuck Creek dominates this mid-century landscape in Coshocton County, where industrial activity and rural community life coexist. The eastern edge of the survey captures the northern expansion of Coshocton as it sits near the junction where the Walhonding meets the Tuscarawas River. By the early 1960s, the terrain was heavily influenced by extensive Strip Mines and several Strip Mine operations that carved into the hillsides surrounding Jackson and Keene townships.
