The Onondaga Indian Reservation dominates the northern landscape of this survey, centered around Onondaga Creek and featuring the historic settlements of Onondaga Castle and Indian Village. The region is defined by deep north-south glacial valleys, where the Syracuse and Binghamton (Division) of the Delaware Lackawanna and Western railroad snakes through the terrain near Apulia Station and Onativia.
