Lavaca Bay and Matagorda Bay define this mid-century coastal landscape, where the shifting shoreline meets a network of levees and oil infrastructure. Near the eastern edge of Port Lavaca, the community is anchored by the Wilkins Sch and a local Landing Strip. The map detail traces a series of coastal settlements including Alamo Beach and Magnolia Beach, leading down to the historic site of Indianola.

Along the narrow strip of Indianola Island, the Indianola Cem and a Historical Monument stand as markers of a place heavily influenced by the Gulf. The interior is a working landscape of Oil Wells and numerous Windmills, while the waters are navigated via Gallinipper Reef and Sand Point Reef. This survey documents the post-war expansion of the Texas coast before further modern development altered the drainage and access to Powderhorn Lake.
