About this map

Mac Intyre Ironworks and the nearby Tahawus Club anchor the eastern industrial and social landscape of this high-altitude Adirondack terrain. Surveyed in 1901, the region is defined by massive mountain ranges including the Santanoni Mountain, Seward Mountains, and the Mac Intyre Mountains. Early infrastructure is represented by the Government Trail and remote outposts such as Camp No. 4 and Camp Santanoni on the shores of Newcomb Lake.
