Tenmile Creek and its many tributaries, including Heath Creek and Bear Creek, carve a drainage pattern across this landscape during a period of significant suburban expansion in southern Dallas County. The 1978-1981 purple-tinted revisions illustrate the rapid growth of Lancaster and De Soto, as residential footprints began to encroach upon established rural landmarks. Despite the encroaching development, several small settlements and community hubs like Parkerville and Elva remain visible, alongside numerous local places of worship such as Wintergreen Missionary Ch and St Martins Ch.

The southern portion of the sheet traces the Missouri Kansas and Texas railroad line as it passes through Red Oak and the Dallas Co Ellis Co border. Evidence of local industry and infrastructure is found in several Gravel Pits and the extensive road network connecting regional centers via Belt Line Road and Wintergreen Road. Family history is preserved in several small burial grounds, including Vincent Cem and Rawlins Cem, which stand as markers of the area's earlier agricultural roots.
