The confluence of the Arkansas River and White River defines this riverine landscape at the border of Arkansas and Desha counties. Much of the northern and eastern portions of the sheet are managed as the Dale Bumpers White River National Wildlife Refuge, preserving a complex network of oxbows and backwaters including Black Lake, La Grues Lake, and Webfoot Lake.
