North Franklin Mtn and the high desert ridges of the Franklin Mountains dominate the western portion of this landscape, creating a sharp geological boundary for the modern expansion of El Paso. The transition from the steep elevations of Anthonys Nose and Indian Peak to the developed neighborhoods of the northeast city is marked by a complex network of multi-use trails, including the Old Tin Mine Road Trl and Cardiac Hill (Part I) Trl.
