The Bear River winds through the northern portion of this landscape, passing the small settlement of Rose as it flows between the Bear River Range and the slopes of Soda Peak. Much of the southern and western terrain is defined by the protected lands of the Cache National Forest, a region marked by steep canyons and numerous natural water sources including Willow Flat Spring, Aspen Spring, and Little Joe Spring.
