American Border Peak and Mt Larrabee dominate this 1989 topographic study of the High Cascades along the Canada-United States boundary. The landscape is defined by its deep mining history, with several high-elevation extraction sites noted including the Red Mountain Mine in the northeast and the Gargett Mine near High Pass. These industrial markers sit in sharp contrast to the surrounding Mt Baker Wilderness, where drainage systems like Tomyhoi Creek and the North Fork Nooksack River carve through the steep terrain. Evidence of recreational use and resource management appears in the southern portion of the sheet near Twin Lakes, where a Campground and a Quarry are situated along the forest roads. Notable peaks such as Tomyhoi Peak and Winchester Mountain provide a clear view of the complex hydrology, including the secluded Tomyhoi Lake.
