Fool Creek Peak anchors this high-elevation survey of the Fish Lake Mountains along the border of Juab and Millard counties. The landscape is defined by a series of deep drainages such as Wild Horse Canyon and Pole Canyon, which reveal early industrial activity in the form of multiple Mine Shafts and a Quarry located in the northwest corner. This area within the Fish Lake National Forest was largely unsurveyed in traditional terms, as indicated by the numerous Protracted Blocks covering the peaks and canyons. Scattered water sources like Mourning Dove Spring and Black Willow Spring suggest the critical importance of localized hydrology for livestock or mining operations in this arid mountain environment. A network of 4wd tracks provides the primary access through the The Narrows and into the higher reaches of the forest.
