The salt marshes and tidal creeks of the Florida Panhandle coastline define this coastal landscape where the Jefferson and Taylor county line meets the Gulf of America. The area is characterized by a complex network of waterways, including the Aucilla River and the Econfina River, which weave through the low-lying terrain before emptying into Apalachee Bay. Much of the eastern portion of the map is dedicated to the Econfina River State Park, showing the preserved natural state of the river-fed wetlands.
