About this map

Colville National Forest dominates this landscape in the late 1980s, revealing a complex drainage system within the Kettle River Range. The northern reaches are defined by the various forks of O'Brien Creek, including its North Fork, Middle Fork, and South Fork branches. Evidence of the region's mineral history is found at the California Mine located near the base of these drainages. High peaks serve as prominent landmarks across the quadrangle, notably Edds Mountain, Mt Washington, and the high point of Bald Mtn on the eastern edge. A network of primitive roads and a Wooden Pole Trans Line cross the terrain, linking remote summits like Granite Mountain and Iron Mountain. The southern portion of the map transitions into the Ninemile Creek and Hall Creek watersheds, illustrating the rugged topographic relief that characterizes this part of Ferry County.
