The low-lying wetlands and hydraulic management of northern Kittson County define this landscape, where early 21st-century topography reveals a heavily engineered drainage system. State Ditch Number Eightyfour and State Ditch Number Eightyfive traverse the township boundaries, illustrating the intensive effort to reclaim this territory for agricultural or transit use. The natural hydrology is still visible in the meandering path of the N Br Two Rivers as it cuts through the southern sections of the quadrangle.
