1972 Map of Mosby Well

USGS Topo · Published 1976

About this map

The high desert plateau where Blaine and Power counties meet is defined by a landscape of intermittent water and remote outposts. In the early 1970s, this area of the Snake River Plain remained sparsely settled, with the most prominent landmarks being vital water points like Mosby Well and the Gasten Beattie Well. These sites, along with the Sand Lake Reservoir and Rock Lake, represent the critical infrastructure required for ranching and survival in the arid Idaho interior.
