The confluence of the North Fork Clearwater River and the main Clearwater River serves as the focal point of this late 20th-century survey. The landscape is dominated by the massive Dworshak Dam and Power House, which holds back the waters of the Dworshak Reservoir. This engineering feat significantly altered the local geography, creating a series of access points such as the Big Eddy Recreation Site and the Freeman Creek Recreation Site.
