Mining operations and arid landforms dominate this 1950s survey of the border region between Arizona and California. The Buckskin Mountains are heavily marked with prospect sites and developed claims, including the Mineral Hill Mines, Mammon Mine, and Billy Mack Mine. To the south, the terrain flattens into the expansive Cactus Plain, while the northwest corner is defined by the Colorado River as it winds past Cienega Springs.
