Bighorn National Forest dominates this high-elevation landscape, where glacial activity has carved a complex network of alpine basins and granite summits. The hydrology of the region is defined by numerous clusters of mountain waters, notably the Seven Brothers Lakes and the isolated Lake Angeline. These bodies of water feed into the drainage systems of North Clear Creek and Middle Clear Creek, which descend through steep canyons marked by Rock and Ant Hill.
