About this map

Kaibab National Forest and the Grand Canyon National Game Preserve converge in this high-altitude landscape within Coconino County. The terrain is defined by a series of branching drainages and seasonal water sources, such as East Fork Warm Springs Canyon and the smaller West Fork Warm Springs Canyon. While primarily a wilderness area, human activity is marked by scattered prospects and localized points of interest like Joes Mud Hole and the namesake Telephone Hill. The southeastern portion of the map transitions into the meadows of Pleasant Valley and Little Pleasant Valley, which offer a distinct topographical shift from the deep, eroded cuts of Moquitch Canyon and Oquer Canyon found elsewhere on the quadrangle.
